CYNOCEPHALIC SAINTS (Baton Rouge)
A New Barbarity for a Sick Civility
Performance and interview live at twitch.tv/yeswecannibal

Dog headed people, Cynocephali, appear in medieval Christian lore, presented as being from beyond the farthest reaches of civilization, often vicious and bloodthirsty. In some cases the Cynocephali received baptism and their monstrous form disappeared.

Cynocephalic Saints, however, is a sonic exploration channeling those who hadn’t been assimilated, be they the imagined beasts outside of civilization, or the English Wolf’s Heads within yet against it.

What is it to embrace the monstrous, both within and without oneself? What is the response of the barbaric to the rigidity and the all-devouring violence of civilization? How does one express the attack on society for which one’s heart longs?

That is the holiness explored and expressed by Cynocephalic Saints.
