Baton Rouge DIY Underground Showcase

Friday October 16th 5:30-9pm

Our friend Michael Tank from Southside Arts Center organized an outdoor show at Ye We Cannibal in mid-October and it was a big success. Michael and his crew did an outstanding job of thinking through and carrying out the protocol necessary to hold a music event during COVID.

Masks were worn by all in attendance and good distancing was practiced, giving most of these bands their first opportunity to play since the beginning of the pandemic.

We want to give a special acknowledgement to our treasured neighbor Princess for being so friendly and understanding about noise as well as to all the participants for being so respectful of others. Sadly, due to strict noise rules and an ambitious schedule, the headliner, Tattered Rabbit, came all the way from New Orleans but were unable to perform. They deserve special thanks for being so cool about it and are welcome to visit anytime.

Here’s a recent piece on Madi Swan written by new friend Gideon Fortunate after the show.
