We stumbled into releasing vinyl records due to making one to accompany our 2021 yearbook, it really happened. This lead to realizing we could realize our dear friend Ben Blohowiak’s The Silver Panthers of Luna as a lathe-cut LP, and then others like local punk band Not My Real Job and an LP by Matt Baldwin and Hans Dobbratz that was made in Los Angeles but resonates with YWC.

Now we are embarking on a set of four 45rpm 7″ records in which we have curated Louisiana based artists that we think are especially important to the art world here. The first of these is Crush Diamond, from Houma and closely connected to one of our favorite places – The Intracoastal Club.

Crush Diamond’s single Mutopia b/w Calculations is currently expected to be released on November 15th, 2023 in an edition of 200 copies as YWC005.

Physical media is a natural extension of our emphasis on meat space.
